Isuzu Repair: 1998 Isuzu Amigo 6 cyl, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump relay

Question
Amigo will turnover and start but dies out.  Local mechanic recommends teplacing fuel pump.  He was unaware of a fuel pump relay.  Would it serve to change the relay before going through the process of changing out the fuel pump?

Answer
Hello Tom. First find a new mechanic. I would have the relay tested. Is there any fault codes on at all? Also check your fuel pump wiring harness that runs from your fuse box on the passenger side of your engine bay. To see if there is any loose wires or connections. Common on Amigo's. Also check your main wiring harness engine ground on the driver side engine bay should be. Again common  for these to be loose on Amigo's and Rodeo's. I would check your voltage running from your fuel pump to your fuel injectors/check fuel injector pulse as well. Hve you checked the fuel pressure regulator? Or the charging system?
