Isuzu Repair: fuel gauge, fuel gauge, gauge needle

Question
Hello, I have a toyota pu.  My question is about the fuel gauge.  I removed the instrument cluster to repair the speedometer.  When I put the cluster back together the fuel gauge didn't work.  When you turn on the key the needle goes to full regardless of how much gas is in the tank. Do you have any suggestions.  I realize your expertise is in isuzus but I figured most foreign cars would be similar.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, Scott Davidson

Answer
Hello Scott, well most fuel gauges rely on a fuel gauge needle, wiring, fuel level sending unit and voltage. During your ordeal you could have bumped or jarred the needle or wires causing it to have an inaccurate reading or you have a wire unhooked. Fuel gauges are very sensitive and can be damaged quite easily. Although if you want to I would take another look at it to see whats wrong ok? Im here if you need anymore help tho with it ok?
