Jaguar Repair: jaguar xjs v12, jaguar xjs v12, jaguar xjs

Question
QUESTION: Hi Howard ive sent several messages now but not had anymore reply from you . Ive checked for power on the white wire as you said to on the main relay and it is powered

ANSWER: If you have power on the white wire with the key on then check the brown wire on pin #30 to confirm it is powered all the time and then check all 4 of the pink w/back tracer wires on both #87 pins to see that they are receiving power at the time the white wire is powered. If they are not powered Check the ground wire on pin #85 (black wire) If all that is correct then you need to take a diagram of the ECU and confirm that the ECU is receiving power from that main relay and is receiving a "Start" signal and all grounds are good and the ECU is receiving a pulse signal from the ignition system. For this you need a wiring diagram of the ECU and you need to tell me which of the three vin numbers I mentioned matches your car so I might post a diagram on my web site for you to copy.

QUESTION: Hi Howard ive checked as you said and can confirm the white is getting power so are the 2 pink/black wires on pin 87 but the other 2 pink/black wires on pin 87a are not

ANSWER: When that relay is activated all of the pink w/black wires are suppose to get powered. Just as a test, you might try putting a jumper between all 4 so that all 4 get power. If that works just replace that one relay. There should be two #87 pins with 4 connections on the two pins and all 4 should get power at the same time.

QUESTION: Hi Howard after some swapping and changing relays plus cleaning up some conectors etc i can now confirm that i do now have power to the wires and relays you say plus i put a noid tester light on injectors and can now also confirm they are working both sides . My problem now is the fuel pump still dont seem to work when key is switched on unless i put a direct live to it ??

Answer
That's good, now all you need to do is follow my wiring diagram from the fuel pump backwards toward the power source and the relay trigger (main relay).

If that diagram does not match well, try these two.
