Jaguar Repair: Horn, vanden plas, source power

Question
1985 Vanden Plas.  Horn quit.  Looked in series III manual and it talks about checking relay located in front of battery above right wheel well.  Can not find relay.  Wires into horns are connected and appear secure.  Having trouble tracing them around grill and up to the relay.  Manual also referred to a in line fuse just after this relay.  Any advice or suggestions?  Is the relay or in line fuse usually the problem.  Please advise and thank you in advance.

Answer
Hi Dan,

The horn relay is a small round relay usually mounted on the inner right front fender well up close to the front. There is no in line fuse. The fuse is in the main panel on the drivers side and is #11.

I never seen a "Usual" problem on horns. You need to take your diagram and test to see what is wrong. I always start at the load (the horns) and work my way to the source. (power) Then test the grounding that operates the Relay (after you test the relay) The grounding is the horn push.

If you don't have a diagram let me know and I will post one on my web site for you to copy.
