Jaguar Repair: purge system, jaguar xjs, fuel vapors

TANKS FOR TAKING QUESTIONS 1983 JAGUAR XJS 35,000 MILES HAS A RECALL FOR PURGE SYSTEM. I CHECKED THE NHSA AND FOUND THE RECALL.THE RECALL STATES TO REVISED PURGE SYSTEM. WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFO ON THIS.I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE TO BUY THIS UPDATED PURGE SYSTEM. I CAN NOT FIND A PURGE VALVE FOR THIS. I CALLED JAGUAR RECALL ONLY GOOD FOR 10 YEARS.I LOVE THE CAR BUT CANN"T STAND THE FUEL VAPORS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

Hi Doug,
I don't think anyone in the aftermarket got involved it that system. If it is no longer available from Jaguar and you have a car that missed getting the modification you may have to design something of your own to vent the vapors into the one of the air filters to burn the vapors in the engine and many older cars did anyway.
