Jaguar Repair: brake lights, jaguar xj 6, brake light switch

Question
I have a 1986 jaguar xj-6 I have no power to the brake light switch maybe a relay checked all fuses in box none blown

Answer
Hi Hermann,

The Switch is powered by fuse #11 (35 amp) in the main fuse panel. Checking for a blown fuse is not the method to test a fuse. You must test with a 12v test light on both sides in the fuse panel.
You need to know where the power stopped not if the fuse looked blown. If the fuse has power on both sides, you need to use the test light to trace that circuit down to the switch. Especially at the plug connector to the harness. There is nothing in between.
