What is the procedure for replacing the inner and outer seal on the rear window of a 1985 jaguar xj6

Hi Robert,
I helped an a Jaguar mechanic who was experienced at installing front and rear glass in a Series III Jag and I will never do it again. The seal is a four piece seal kit and the glass is glued in. Plus the rear glass has the electric heater in it so care must be taken for that too.

You would be far better off calling several auto glass companies to find one who has done a Jaguar and have them do it. A friend asked me to do his and I declined and he found a local auto glass company that did it and supplied the glass and seal kit for less than half of what I would have wanted just for labor.

I worked for several Jaguar dealers over the years but mechanics don't normally install glass.
