Jaguar Repair: E type Jag, electric antenna, stereo 8

Question
what was the standard stereo / 8 track / cassette player issued in a 1973 e type v12 5.3 jaguar?

Answer
Hi Max,
Sorry Max the Jags came with no radio nor cassette players from Jaguar. We at the dealerships installed them as per what ever the dealership wanted or the customer requested at the time of PDI (predelivery inspection). Jag did start installing antennas in 74 or 75, as I got the first one of those in a dealership in Jacksonville FL and I had drove a spike in the cowling up front where we always installed the antenna when I happened to look back and seen a first factory installed electric antenna on the rear quarter . A chrome screw and chrome washer temporary fixed the error.

Even though the factory has installed this antenna, I don't believe they supplied the radio because I always had to draw a radio from the parts department as no radio came in the accessory package in the car. In later years I did see factory installed radios in the XJ sedans and they all had "Jaguar" logos on their face and were already installed in the cars.

Most of the radios I installed in "E" types were German Blouplunkt. But I don't know if that was the dealerships idea or maybe even a recommendation from Jaguar. I never seen a factory installed radio in any "E" type Jag.

I don't know if this was the same in the UK but that is how it was in the US back then.
