Jaguar Repair: Auto ttransmission, borg warner, transmission shop

I have 1967 XKE 4.2, 2+2 that won't shift into 3rd, 1st and 2nd is smooth but won't go to third, the kick down cable was stuck so I replaced it, no change. Do you know where I can send this transmission for a rebuild? It is a BW-8, I live in upstate NY but would ship anywhere to get this fixed, or can I but a new trans to replace it, need to drive this car. Thanks

Hi Ken,
It is a Borg Warner 8 and most any automatic transmission shop should be able to rebuild it. They may not want to R & R it but should be able to do the rebuild. Just call some shops and ask. You should try to have it done locally so if you have a problem you can have them check it out.
I don't know enough about automatics to tell you how to fix it yourself.
