Jaguar Repair: Swapping auto transmission to manual, jaguar dealers, standard transmission

Hi,

I'm looking at buying an 1987 Series 3 XJ6 around my neighborhood and I'm trying to get a rough idea for what the possibilities are.

I might have to swap the transmission depending on its condition, so I was wondering how feasible would it be to try and replace the automatic with a standard transmission?

Hi Loic,
You would have to change a lot to do that if you could find a standard trans car to get all of the equipment. Peddle assembly, flywheel, driveshaft etc. I take it that you are not in the US because I have never even seen a standard transmission series III car and I have worked for three different Jaguar dealers since the XK-150 was new.
