Jaguar Repair: 1987 jaguar, power sun roof, fuse panel

Question
QUESTION: Do you know where the fuse is located for the power sun roof,I checked the 2 panels under the dash, but nothing is marked for radio(also not working),power roof or windows.windows are ok,

ANSWER: Hi James,
The same power supply for the windows supplies power to the sun roof which is a thermal breaker. If the windows operate the sun roof is powered. You need to check the rocker switch in the console. They often fail but can be taken apart and cleaned to operate.
The antenna is powered by the #3 fuse in the main fuse panel. The radio relay is powered by the #1 & #2 ignition position and an in-line fuse in the radio panel and another in-line fuse in the console with the relay.

QUESTION: ok,thanks, the antenna works ok,the windows are powered, but the drivers control in console will only raise the rear windows wont lower them,I will try to remove console and find 2 inline fuses for radio and check rocker for sunroof. Is there much to the removal.?

ANSWER: Remove the armrest lid and the plastic tray to gain access to the switch plugs and switches. This will also allow you to remove the console top with the switches and ash trays.

QUESTION: First of all thanks very much.I have repaired the power roof, window and radio.the next question regards the heater. If you turn the fan on it blows from the vents in the dash.If you turn it to defrost for the windshield it does not change.I dont know if the air cond.works or not as the belt was laying broken down inside  the motor by the fan.The compressor still turns freely by hand,so I dont think its seized. Also the rear defrost is not working, not sure what fuse its on.Thanks again, you have ben a great help.

Answer
James, the AC runs all the time, even when the heat is on, but when the vacuum doors don't operate correctly you need a Jaguar AC manual because it is a very complex system operated by a rotating cylinder that operates several micro switches and vacuum switches. The test sequence is too large to print in e-mail. All you can do without the book is check to see that you have vacuum applied to the system. There are two ports in the firewall (lower right side behind and below the throttle plate) One is vacuum in and the other is vacuum out to the heater control valve. Check the vacuum "In" supply.
