Jaguar Repair: 1985 XJ6 Rear Brakes, rear brakes, brake noise

I have removed my rear brake pads on my 1985 xj6. I have noticed a differance in the amount of wear on each pad. One side is almost worn out and the other is still good.  Is this a normal pattern?  If not what can be done? Also, I had distint rear brake noise before the pad replacement.  Should the noise be less prevelant?

Hi Kim,
No, this is not normal and it is a clear indication you need to remove and either rebuild or replace the calipers. No small job on a Jag. Get a service manual before you try to do it. If the worn out pad has gone to metal you will probably need to have the disks turned too.
