Jeep Repair: 2005 Jeep Wrangler with P0700 and P0888 codes, jeep wrangler, reputable repair shop

Question
Driving home yesterday and the transmission downshifted and the CEL came on. I stopped at an Autozone to use their code scanner and came back with a P0700 and a P0888. Any idea what might be causing these. I tried removing the battery for 12 hours to reset everything but as soon as I started driving the CEL came back on.
Thanks for any help before I head to the dealer.

Answer
The P0700 code is set because a problem was found in the transmission. The P0888 code is for the transmission control relay. Remove the relay and check for power in the plug, you should have 12v at 2 of the terminals with the key on. If not check all the fuses. If you have power then it may be a bad relay or a wiring problem between the fuse box and the transmission. Relace the relay first, if that doesn't solve the problem you'll need to bring your Jeep to a reputable repair shop for furher diagnosis and repair.
