Jeep Repair: P0740 code on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, torque converter clutch, jeep grand cherokee

Question
Please help me identify what I need to do to repair my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, V8, that is showing a P0740, Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit, on my OBD. I was driving my jeep through a few hills, came to a stop and noticed the engine was racing a little high. I step on the gas pedal quickly and the racing stopped, for a few miles. Then the racing happened again. The Jeep runs good, plenty of power, no roughness, and turns off good. When I got home I check the Jeep computer with my OBD.
Regards,
Ray

Answer
What may be happening is that the transmission fluid in the torque converter might be aerated due to low fluid level or worn out fluid. Check the fluid level first then if you have not done so already I would have the transmission serviced. Not just flushed, the filters on this transmission need to be replaced regularly.
