Jeep Repair: jeep wont crank over, reputable repair shop, jeep grand

Question
At first the interior light would not turn off,so i pulled the fuse and they went out. After that I drove it for awhile and then it would not start. I would turn the key and it would not crank over.it would not do nothing no power.so I disconnected the positive battery cable for a few minutes and reconnected it to the battery and turn the key and it started right up.it is a 2000 jeep grand laredo.don't know if it is a short or the key It self.Any ideas

Answer
The two problems you listed share nothing in common other than the battery. That you stated that once you disconnected and then reconnected the battery would lead me to believe that the terminals or the battery need to be looked at as the probable cause for your no crank condition. Other than that I can't say what else might be the problem. You should consider taking the vehicle to a reputable repair shop for some hands on diagnostics.
