Jeep Repair: 1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 5.2 LITER MOTOR, jeep grand cherokee, left turn signal

Question
HI KEVIN,
MY ON BOARD MESSAGE CENTER SHOWS "REAR LAMP FAILURE"BUT ALL BULBS ARE WORKING. THE MESSAGE DOESN'T COME ON  UNTIL I START THE MOTOR
& TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL. ALSO SOMETIMES THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL FLASHES RAPIDLY BUT THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL BLINKS NORMALLY& SOMETIMES BOTH GREEN TURN ARROWS JUST STAY A SOLID GREEN UNTIL A TURN SIGNAL IS USED & THEN THE TURN SIGNAL ARROW WILL BLINK LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO.THE MESSAGE CENTER AUTOMATICALLY WENT BACK TO JAN. 1ST, 12:00 WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED !!

Answer
I just found this question in the Question Pool so I might be able to help you. Although all you bulbs appear to be working I would check to see if they are the correct bulbs. There are two types of bulbs that can be used in the lamps, both vary in the amount of resistance the bulbs have. If the wrong bulb is used it will cause the warning indicator to illuminate. This could also be the reason the indicator acts the way it does. Check all the bulbs, they should be 3057 bulbs. As far as the message center problem you may just have a loose connection to the back of the center. Check it for loosenes, if none is found yhen the circuit board or another component inside the message center may have failed.
