the jeep key will not turn to turn the jeep on .. the bell rings that the key is there but will not move either way...we have taken alot of the dash parts off and have access to the switch but do not know how to get it out.. Please help ! Thnaks Denise & Rick Poston

ANSWER: u want to replace the key cyl not the ign switch  if the key is stuck and will not turn.

My wife has family up there in fort dodge =)
put the key in and turn it   if it won turn smack the key with a hammer while turning it to the run position then remove the steering wheel cover 2 screws. there will be a small silver button that u press on the key cyl housing it will come all the way out with the key still inside.   now from here u rebuild the key cyl right there or take it to a lock smith to have the tumblers swapped over to the new cly.
