Jeep Repair: Blower Motor Replacement, blower motor resistor, jeep dealer

Question
QUESTION: Can you give instructions on replacing the blower motor on a 2001 Jeep Grand Cher.? The fan does not blow for AC, heater or defroster. The fuse is good. I read something about w/ AC, the AC needs to be drained? Is this true and is this replacement something I can do or leave to the pros?

ANSWER: if u have auto temp controls the blower motor resistor likes to melt the connectors going to it and the resistor itself.

QUESTION: I do have dual auto temp controls. How do I check the resistor and know if it's the resistor and not the motor? I live in New York. Thanks for your help.

Answer
pass side under the dash will have the resistor attached to the HVAC box  2 screws hold it in. Or fallow the red and black wires from the blower motor to the resistor then see if u can take the connector off and look to see if its burnt  also if u cant remove the connector then it is more then likely burnt up and melted to the resistor  go to a local jeep dealer and get a resistor and replacement connector.
