Jeep Repair: 2002 Liberty Clutch, jeep liberty, manual transmission

Question
I have a 2002 Jeep liberty w/ a manual transmission.  I only have 60,000 miles on it. The clutch peddle doesn't catch until almost the very top.  My Dealer said I would need to replace the clutch (about $1,000) Can these clutches be adjusted or does it need to be replaced.  Should I need to replace it after 60,000 miles?
Thanks for you help.

Answer
there is no adjustment on the clutch  the throw out bearing is the main supply of force on the clutch along with the plate. 60k miles yes  but also 5 years old.
as for the price  u could get it done  a bit cheaper then at a dealer  shop around.  but U will get what U pay for as far as parts.
