Question
QUESTION: I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (4.0L).  Recently I replaced my battery.  I noticed that one of the battery cables attached to the battery is corroded and the bolts are stripped.  I was wondering if I should get the battery cable replaced by a mechanic or try and install a new bolt.

ANSWER: u can cut off the old cable end and get just a new cable end at an auto parts store.

QUESTION: Thank you for responding.  Can you give me some directions on how I would cut the cable and install a new one.  I am not too mechanically inclined but I can do basic stuff like installing a new battery, change the oil, air filter...

Answer
cut the battery terminal end as close to the old terminal as u can use what ever u want to like a hack saw or what ever.
the new cable end will have a clamp style that u peal back the old rubber on the cable and make sure its copper all the way around and u install the new clamp and tighten.
