Questionwhat is it and where is it im pulling code P1494 on my 97 jeep grand cherokee and thats what it came up as it would be nice to know about it cause the book doesnt explain anything
AnswerLEAK DETECTION PUMP (LDP)
The LDP is located in the left/front corner of the engine compartment below the EVAP canister purge solenoid Leak Detection Pump (LDP) Location
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove air cleaner housing. Refer to Fuel System for procedures.
Carefully remove all vapor/vacuum lines at EVAP canister purge solenoid.
Remove EVAP canister purge solenoid.
Disconnect electrical connector at LDP.
Carefully remove vapor/vacuum lines at LDP.
Remove LDP mounting nuts/bolts.
Remove LDP from vehicle.
Reverse the removal procedures for installation. The vapor/vacuum lines must be firmly connected. Check the vapor/vacuum lines at both the LDP and EVAP canister solenoid for damage or leaks. If a leak is present, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.
