Jeep Repair: hot wires in steering column, steering column, fire hazard

I have a hot spot on the lower front right of the steering column, the clump of wires are getting hot enough to smoke. what could cause this and what do I do to fix it? Thanks

It would appear that you have a wire that is shorting to ground or a component that is using more current than what is normal. I would take it to a repair shop and have them trace the wires and look for a short or bad component. Do it asap as it very well can become a fire hazard.
