Jeep Repair: 1997 grand cherokee, ft lbs torque, pitman arm removal


Question
I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee leaking from the bottem of the power steering gear assembly, how involved is replacing the seals? Does the unit need to be removed from vehicle?

STEERING GEAR
REMOVAL
Place the front wheels in the straight ahead position with the steering wheel centered.
Remove and cap the pressure and return hoses from the steering gear.
Remove the column coupler shaft from the gear Coupling Shaft
Remove pitman arm from gear with Puller C-4150A Pitman Arm Removal
Remove the steering gear retaining bolts and nuts. Remove the steering gear from the vehicle Steering Gear Mounting
INSTALLATION
Position the steering gear on the frame rail and install the bolts. Tighten the bolts to 88 N·m (65 ft. lbs.) torque.
Install the column coupler shaft.
Install the pitman arm and tighten nut to 251 N·m (185 ft. lbs.)
Connect pressure and return hoses to steering gear and tighten to 28 N·m
