Jeep Repair: computer problem?, viable issue, engine warranty

Question
QUESTION: i have a 1996 GC laredo 4 ltr. when i hit 60-65 mph, the engine shakes and sputters. if i pull over, it goes away quickly and i can drive again fine, as long as i'm under 65 mph. took it to a garage and they said the computer is bad? Can this cause be the problem? They thought at first it might be a bad sensor, because my check engine light cam on when it happened? Thanks for the help!

ANSWER: what was the code that they pulled?

QUESTION: i'm not sure of the code, he said that it said bad O2 sensor at first, then he said it was the O2 wire, then lastly he came back with the computer. Strange thing is, they just installed a rebuilt engine in it 3 days ago!But when i was driving it home, the "check engine" light came on after @5miles, then the 65MPH problem. I drove it today just to make sure it wouldn't conk out after driving for a bit, and as long as i kept it under 65MPH, or 2000RPM, no problem.I find it hard to believe it is a computer problem, and i think they are just trying to make some money, and not fix the engine correctly like they should have in the first place! Thanks again for your thoughts!
ANSWER: is this the same place that put the engine in or not?  if so  i would say  U guys need to take care of this.

QUESTION: yes it is the same place. the manager said he doesn't know if the computer was broke before it was brought in for service or not.So he said it isn't covered under the engine warranty he gave me? or could there be a problem because of a different motor causing the "computer" issue, if in fact that is a viable issue.Shouldn't the scanner be able to tell if the computer has a problem when they hook it up?Sorry to ask all these questions, but i'm not too engine savvy, i feel like i'm being taken advantage of and when i go back, i want to have a lil knowledge under my belt, which i thank you for so far!
ANSWER: a dealer scanner would tell u what u need to know  so with the shops blessing i would take it to the dealer and have the shop pay for what is necessary to fix it. What was the engine put in for the first place?

QUESTION: The engine was replaced because of a cracked header. The engine had 190,000 miles on it, and they replaced the engine for a decent price.

Answer
was a check engine light on b4 the engine was replaced? if no  common sense would tell u that its not an computer issue  more like some one there did not do something correctly  or routed a wire wrong and burnt it up on the manifold or something along that line. Take it back to them and make them fix it.
