Jeep Repair: 99 jeep cherokee sport ac not blowing cold, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

Hello I have a 99 jeep  and a few months ago the sc started to intermittently blow cold and then outside temp. Well now a few months later it just blows outside temp.  I got a recharge kit from pepboys and I started the car and ran the ac and hooked up the gage on the kit and it said low charge. I added some more freon as per instructions then checked the gage and it says good charge.  every fre seconds something clicks on and the pressure drops to around 12 then it clicks off and the gage goes back up to good charge.  What can be wrong with my system and it is something that I dont have to spend hundreds of dollars to fix?  I just payed this thing off and this is the first thing to go wrong , so I should count my blessings!  but it's hot here and I love my ac!   Thanks!  Roy

Chances are you're hearing the a/c compressor cycling off and on (normal).  The gauge on that bottle hooks up to the low side fitting.  if you got 12psi on it you should either have to wear a coat inside or the charge is still a little off.  More than likely you've got a leaking evaporator core inside the dash.  Remember those car payments you were making?  You'll have about 2-4 more to make if you decide you want your a/c fixed.
