Jeep Repair: 96 Cherokee Alarm, cherokee laredo, remote keyless entry

Ron, last night at 2:00 a.m. my factory installed car alarm activated on my 1996 Cherokee Laredo. It was parked in my garage and was unlocked. No one or nothing was close to the vehicle when the alarm activated. It has since done the same thing two or three times this morning.  So, I have two specific questions: 1) What can cause the stock alarm to activated by itself? 2) Can I somehow bypass the alarm or should it be taken in for repair? FYI, I seldom use the remote keyless entry feature.  Thank you for your time and your assistance.

Find out if it's a factory alarm or an aftermarket variety and try to track down the manufacturer.  Call their tech line and see what they think since I have no idea other than you battery in the remote is possibly going dead and this is the signal to change it.
