Jeep Repair: 93 wrangler, neutral safety switch, battery cables

Question
my jeep sometimes will not start, sometimes it will. It only takes a short distance to push start. I was told it might be the neutral safety switch, or it might be my starter. Any suggestions?

Answer
The reasons for an engine not starting is almost endless but I would start by:
1. making sure the battery is good and fully charged
2. checking the battery cables from end to end and cleaning the battery posts and ends
3. have the starter tested
4. make sure all three components of the ignition switch are working properly
5. having the engine's compression tested (a worn, low compression engine starts hard).
6. making sure the starter and flywheel properly engage
7. having the starter selenoid tested to make sure it's working
etc.
