Land Rover Repair: 2002 Disco II Transmission removal and Installation, land rover discovery, land rover discovery ii

I just recently bought a 2002 Land Rover Discovery II that needs a transmission put in it. The front driveshaft fell out and put a hole in it. I am very mechanically inclined but was wondering the steps and procedures involved in it but can not find anything anywhere. Was wondering if you could help out where to find something or let me know the step or if it requires anything special. Thanks Brian

I think most experienced technicians would just do that job as there is no electronic work and no special tools are needed.  That said, if you would feel better backed up with step by step procedures and pictures you can buy a day's access from Land Rover's official service site www.landrovertechinfo.com and download whatever you need.

There is nothing there to trip you up if you are generally familiar with undercar work like removing and refitting transmissions in other cars
