what size are the lug nuts on a 2001 landrover discovery and are is there a cover over the nuts to be taken off before lug nuts can be removed.

Hi Doug,

don't remove the cover on the lug nuts - it's there to reduce the chances of seizing inside the socket.  

Those covers can become damaged so it's best to replace the entire lug when they start slipping.

Lug size is 16mm x 1.50 thread size  (27mm hex)

Remember not to over-torque :  105 ft.lbs max!
