Land Rover Repair: Radiator Fan Blades, land rover discovery, radiator fan

I was replacing the alternator in my 95 Land Rover Discovery today and one of the radiator fan blades broke off. Is there any way to disconnect it or drive the vehicle in the meantime? I live in Southern Alberta and it's not likely to get warm any time soon. I'm concerned that the fan may be off-balance enough to cause more damage.

You are right to be concerned about the fan.  I've seen them explode right through the hood when run off balance.  You can probably operate in winter without the fan, as long as you don't leave the car sitting at idle.  If you are moving the air flow through the radiator will probably be enough but if you stop you will overheat
