Land Rover Repair: disco 2wheel drive, rear axles, differential lock

Question
we got stuck on a snowy hill and noticed it was only driving the front wheels can you help

Answer
Is the drive shaft to the rear wheels in place?  If so, the center differential was spinning and allowing the front wheels to spin while the back wheels sat there.  If your Rover has electronic traction control it should have engaged to get you out.  You can fit a differential lock - kits are available online - to solidly lock the front and rear axles in such situations
