Land Rover Repair: find an independent dealer/others, co springs co, inertia switch

Question
Thanks for being there for all of us who have a lot of questions regarding their Disco's/LR. Please suggest an independent dealer for LR in Co. Springs,CO. Also, my questions is that my LR Disco 2 has a problem on starting up, it sounds like a car being started on a cold snowy day, (even with a new battery on). Service engine light came on together, accelerator did not work, brake locked up and steering wheel also locked up. It was scary..then I let it rest for a few minutes..turn the engine off and re-started it again and thank God that when these was happening no one behind or in front of me.What do you suggest? Greatly appreciate what every is your input.Merry Christmas.

Answer
Hi Vangie,  Merry Christmas to you too!

wow !  what a nightmare that must have been having all that lock up on you... it would have scared the .... outta me!

It could be a faulty switch being triggered (park/neutral switch, brake switch, inertia switch); could also be the BCU - ignition connection, which may explain the difficult starts. Hard to tell from where I'm sitting.  :)

Corvettes had a problem similar to this ... steering wheel would lock up and engine stall - turned out to be ignition switch related.

I'd check out Pike's Peak Rovers :
