Land Rover Repair: Power Steering, probaby, autoshop

Question
Hello,

I am at my wits end with an autoshop that has tried a few times to fix my car.  When they had replaced the power steering pump (A1 Cadone-I think) all it does now is make this whiney noise on top of some type of grinding and the mechanic does not know how to resolve the issue.  The Steering Pump has been replaced a couple of times now and the sound has not gone away. Is there anything that he may have overlooked?

Answer
Well, the pump may be defective, the gear may be bad, the lines might be kinked or clogged . . . the thing is, if you have to ask me what the mechanic may have overlooked, what does that say about him?  Is he over his head, indifferent . . . whatever it is, it does not sound like he is qualified or able to work on this truck and your best move is probaby to find a qualified specialist.  That may not be easy.  People bring Rovers hundreds of miles to Robison Service for serious problems because specialists are so rare.  But look around, ask other owners, look on the Internet . .
