Land Rover Repair: M & S flashing lights, fuse box, ebay

Question
I have a 99 Disco II, I went to start it and nothing happened didn't try to turn over or anything, and the sport and manual mode were flashing and a SLASH THROUGH THE D in NEXT to the trip display FLASHING. Took the key out and tried again same thing happened. Took the key out and tried again and this time it fired right up. Then I put front windows down, pushed the buttons and they started going down automatically, I pushed up on the buttons to stop them half way and it didn't stop them they just went down. I tried to put them up and nothing happened.
I turned the truck off thinking maybe just a malfunction. When I went to turn if back on it would start doing like before flashing. Tried several times to start and nothing and windows still wont go up, the interior lights don't work power seats and lock/alarm don't work. The headlights turn on and when I switch the interior light to on it works but when its set to come on with door open it doesn't come on. Some things still work. I unhooked the battery and that didn't help.
I talked to  a Rover Master tech on justanswerws.com and said the only connection to the windows and the flashing M & S lights would be the IDM. So I bought a used fuse box off ebay, installed it and still the same thing. Everyone in the forums said to check battery. So I had it tested and turned out to be bad replaced under warranty. But the new battery didn't change a thing.
A while later I started to think that the alarm light in the dash was flashing and I didn't remember it flashing before I put the other fusebox in. So I decided to put my original fuse box in thinking maybe the dealer had to program for a new fuse box and I hadn't had the new battery in with the original fuse box.
Well once the original fuse box was put in everything was the same except the alarm light wasn't flasing anymore. Well being very frustrated by now I just started turning the key on and off real fast. After about ten times doing this everything shut off, no dash light or anything. I unhooked the battery and tried the key again this time I noticed that the gear selector was no longer flashing D with the slash it was just the P like it should have been, But hte M&S lights still flashing. So I went to start it and again everything turned off. Unhooked the battery and tried again, IT STARTED!!
I tried everything and it all seemed to work, drove around neighborhood to get some rust off rotors. Started it up a couple more time in the next week everthing fine, never drove it didn't really trust it yet.Well started it up again and was just testing wverything out to see if all still working. I was testing lights and turn signals and I turned on the right turn signal and turned it off, but the signal stayed on. swithched to left signal but the right stayed flashing left would not come on. So I turned the truck off and the  signal was still flashing with the truck off and the key out! I unhooked the battery and the signal turned off. Hooked the battery back up and the signal did not come on. So I went to turn the truck on and guess what, the M & S lights flashing and D with a slash through it flashing in the gear display! So I am back to the original problem.
Could it be the IDM and I just need to buy a new one istead of used? the turn signal not turning off kinda sounds like a fuse issue.
  Any suggestiions would be great
  Thanks for your time

Answer
I think your story points to a problem with the body control module, which is a programmable part that has to be configured by a dealer or shop with a Autologic/T4/IDS system.  The fuse box is a possibility too but you sort of ruled it out with what you did already.
