Land Rover Repair: rear hub assembly repair 2004 discovery, rear hub, hub assembly

Question
Hi,
Last week I had the 60,000 mile check up for my car at a dealership. They told me that I needed rear brakes and one rear hub assembly.  Now, it seems as though when I accelerate, at ~ 30 and 50, I feel as though there is a slight vibration under the gas pedal. I do not feel it in the steering wheel or the seat, just uder the gas pedal. Is it possible that this is due to the replacement of the rear hub assembly?? I called a local mechanic who does not work on land rovers but just wanted an opinion, and he told me that it sounded like the front drive shaft and that I needed to have it replaced right away or it will ruin my transmission. Is it possible that when they replaced the rear hub assembly that they did something to the front drive shaft.  I have a 2004 discovery that I have had since day one and I love it. I am really worried now. Maybe this vibration was always there and I am just focusing on it since I had all this work done. I always worry after I have any work done. I live 2 1/2 hours from the dealer otherwise I would have returned already. My neighbor who works on cars drove it and said it did not feel like a drive shaft problem but he did not look under the car. What does a bad drive shaft problem feel like. Thanks you in advance.

Answer
There is really no way for me to convey the sound or feel of a drive shaft problem in words.  If you are worried about the noise I urge you to find a qualified expert and have him listen.  Remember that each car has its characteristic noises, and a person who works on Toyota 99% of the time may be of limited value on a Rover.  Seek someone with substantial Rover experience.

There is no connection between a rear hub and the front drive shaft
