Land Rover Repair: 2005 LR3 AC Problem, 2005 lr3, coolant

Question
I bought by LR3 last summer. The AC was really cold. This spring it did not seem as cold. Then the passenger side started blowing hot air while the driver side was blowing cool but not cold air. Then no cold air at all. Took it to the shop and they said the coolant was low. Topped it off and injected some dye. A month later same problem came up in the same order. Took the car back they said it was only a little low and checked with the dye light for the leak and could not find one. Topped it off again blew really cold air. Now its blowing warm air again. Any thoughts? It always starts with the pass. side and then the drivers side goes warm.

Answer
What you are describing sounds like a leak, where the system loses efficiency and gradually fails.  Your next step should be finding the leak adn getting it fixed.  If the truck were here at Robison Service, we would inject UV leak trace dye into the system and see where it leaked out.  There are other techniques too.  Just be sure you find someone who is actually qualified to fix the thing.
