Land Rover Repair: 2000 disco II Brake sensors, land rover specialist, serp belt

Question
I had all four pads, rotors and calipers checked today and found all in perfect shape but my ABS, TC and Decent warning lights wont go off, plus they sqweek bad!, also im having a lot of noise from the Serp belt which is also in great shape ----whats happening, the car sounds like it's about to fall apart.  I just bought it from original owner and have all service records, its only got 95k  on it, im stumped, could it just be a sensor and should I try the old school "bar of soap" method on the serp belt to make it stop being so noisy as well?

Answer
Your warning light problem has nothing to do with the pads and rotors.  It's an electronic issue that can only be resolved by a Land Rover specialist who has a T4 or Autologic test system to talk to the SLABS computer system in the car.

Without tests, no one can say what's wrong or if it's major or minor.

The belt is probably not the source of the squeak.  More often, the squeak signals bad bearings in the idler rollers that guide the belt.  There are two idlers on that engine.

The brake squeak is usually a result of fitting off-brand pads and rotors.  That's why we use original brake parts only.  There are plenty of places on your car where we can save money on off-brand parts but the brake pads are not one of them, IMO

Best of luck with your choice,
