Land Rover Repair: fuel problem, range rover hse, 2003 range rover hse

My 2003 range rover HSE will stop feuling at 3/4 of a tank.  The gas pump at the sation shuts off like it is full.  Whats the problem?

It sounds like a failure of the fuel pump level sender assembly.  There are 2 in this car and they are only sold as part of the fuel pump assembly.  It is very common in this car.  The failure is usually in the secondary pump, which is the cheaper of the two.
