Land Rover Repair: Landrover freelander HSE 2004, incorrect key, superlock

Question
Hi there,
My landrover sat for 2 months and when I tried to get into it, I could not unlock the doors with the remote (both of them) or manually unlock the doors.  Broke in, installed a new battery, and the key will not turn in the ignition either.  Is it possible that with out battery the locks can not be turned manually due to computer not reading the code?  Also steering wheel is locked...
thanks,
L

Answer
I would infer that the vehicle is stuck in superlock, which will make it impossible to open even manually with the key.  If the key neither turns in the ignition nor the door locks, I would suspect the key is damaged or, perhaps, is the incorrect key.  If the key turns in the doors but not the ignition, I would suspect that the wheels are at an angle, putting pressure on the ignition lock.  If this is the case, you will have to push the steering wheel to the other side until you can turn the key in the ignition.
