Land Rover Repair: Discovery TD5, rubber bushes, discovery td5

I have a 2002 Disco TD5. Recently I noticed a rattle/knock when I turn to the left and the road is a little rough or bumpy. This does not happen when the road is smooth. it sounds as if something is knocking against the chassis. The weird thing though is, that the knock only occurs under the circumstances mentioned. Since you're in Africa on rough roads I'd start by looking at the bushings that locate the axle assembly to the frame. The heavy metal links have rubber bushes at the ends that fail early on dirt roads.  Start there and look carefully for any free play
