Land Rover Repair: 2002 LR Discovery II -- Oil and Coolant Leak, coolant leak, coolant level

Question
I recently purchased a 2002 Discovery with 52,000 miles.  I had it inspected and was told by a dealership that it has 2 problems.  The more important problem they said was a coolant leak at the 'top intake throttle body plate.'  The other problem was a few oil leaks 'top and bottom.'

I've been checking under the car every day and I don't see any leakage on the ground which leads me to believe the leaks are slow or slight.  Also, the coolant level is holding fine (as well as the engine temp).  I was quoted 400 for the coolant leak and 3,000 dollars to fix the oil leaks.

I will probably get another independent mechanic to look at the issues regardless, but how serious are these problems in the big picture?  For what it's worth, I don't drive much and will not exceed 3,000 miles this year.

Answer
I think you need someone who can put the severity of the leaks into perspective. In this economy there are a lot of hungry service writers out there.  You need help distinguishing leaks that threaten your truck's life from leaks that are just minor annoyances.
