Land Rover Repair: vehicle cant start, crankshaft position sensor, fuel pump relay

i have denfender td5 2005 model sometimes it start,sometimes does not;when you crank it the revcounter rise and the check light appers on the dashboard it blinks,on the test book it shows noisy crank singal please help

Hi Klaas,

could it be the crankshaft position sensor is faulty?  Without a clean signal, the PCM is not activating the fuel pump relay and thus you get crank but no ignition.  You might see P0335, P0336 and P0340 codes with this problem.
