Land Rover Repair: 2003 inactive air suspension, obd ii scanners, landrover dealer

Question
How can a Range Rover that is never hardly driven, 30 k miles on it, have this message displayed ? It sits fine at the normal driving "center" level, how ever after Landrover inspects it, they say probably this probably that .....starting with it needs maybe a tank and maybe a "compressor" ? I'm a 25 year used auto dealer & just took my car the heck out of that Landrover Dealer and parked it BACK in the garage! Any ideas where my mechanic shud start looking? A Land Rover mechanic suggested seeking a pin hole in the tank? I absolutely do not trust any service dept knowing that revenue MUST be made there! I fear driving it, thinking, further damage may be caused. Can anyone she some light on this ?

Thanks !

Answer
The only way anyone can shed light on your problem is by connecting a T4 or Autologic system to the vehicle to check it out.  The air suspension (and most other systems on that vehicle) do not talk to generic OBD II scanners.

You've got a six year old vehicle there.  No matter what the mileage, valves get moisture in them and corrode, rubber air bags dry rot, and so on.  So anything is possible.  There is no generic cause for your current situation and there's no way to comment on what the dealer told you.

If you don't trust them, try another dealer or look for an independent shop with one of those two test systems.  I'd caution you, though, that anyone who tried to work on it without the correct test system is just wasting yoru time and theirs.
