RV Repair: rv water leak, electrical shorts, leak water

Question
Darren, thanks so much...the generator is an Onan and I did check the fuses..and they are ok.  I'll try your other suggestions...As to the air conditioner.  Are you saying the drain for condensation is in the upper part of the unit and is that why I should check to see if it's tightly fastened to the top?  You're not talking about rain, correct?  I mean it leaks water when it's running and a pretty fair amount if the unit has been running for a few hours..I push the bottom (inside) cover up just a little bit, say a 1/4" and water just pours out of it.  I don't know whether to use it or not with that amount of water due to electrical shorts etc.  Is there a drain that is on the inside part near where the air comes out into the RV?  Thanks again. Question -
I have a 1981 Mobile Traveler on a chevy body... just got it and I have a few problems.  Go figure!
My first rv. and I'd like to fix what I can myself.
1.  The generator is only a  few years old and has 200 hrs. on it.  Worked great for a while but now will not start when I push the button. Does nothing no noise or anything.  Have a remote button in the coach and one by the generator.  Neither will do anything...it's like they are not even hooked up..no power going to the geneator..Any ideas?
2.  The air conditioner started to leak water inside when I use it for a while...it's coleman..is there a drain that could be plugged?
3.   I have a water leak that just started...is ther a place I can get a schematic of the system?  It's a pretty major leak and I have not yet figured out where it's coming from...not the head thank goodness.
Thanks.  Bob Adams,,san diego.

Bob,

   Okay here goes.

   1.  If it's an Onan there should be an F1 and F2 fuse on the front panel.  That would be the first thing to check.  If they are okay check to see if you have voltage at the battery cable coming to the generator.  If you have voltage I would check the starter solenoid.

   2.  The first thing to check on the A/C is to see if it is mounted tightly to the roof.  There are three or four bolts mounting it to the roof and a foam gasket between the A/C and roof is what seals it to keep the water out.  If that isn't the problem you may try removing the shroud and cleaning the base of it out.

   3.  You will not be able to find any prints on the water system.  The only thing you can do is follow the lines until you find the leak.

I hope this helps, good luck and happy camping.

Darren

Answer
Bob,
Yes, the drain is in the upper unit.  If it's not leaking around the gasket and the drain isn't plugged, about the only thing it could be is the pan that the evaporator coil sits in must have a crack or a hole in it.  I hope this clarifies my previous answer.
