Land Rover Repair: Rear Suspension, landrover discovery, britich

Question
My problem is the rear of my 2000 Landrover Discovery. It will not elevate at all in the rear. I do not hear any hissing or air escaping, but I do hear like a "mechanic shifting" like its trying to elevate. I had the rear air bags replaced 3 years ago and wonder if this is it again or is it a "valve block." Do you have any idea of the cost to this? Is it worth even fixing?

Answer
Almost any repair will cost more than simply converting to coil springs.  You can buy conversion kits from Atlantic Britich or Rovers North.  Installation is pretty easy - 3 hours or so, and the fix is permanent.

Most Discoveries have coils in back anyway.  The air was good when it was new, but endless trouble when old.
