Land Rover Repair: transmission, land rover discovery, skilled mechanic

Hi John, I have a 2000 land rover discovery II SD model . It has recently been diagnosed with a faulty transmission. I can't afford to have a shop repair it so i found a trans. at the salvage yard for 700.00 My question is how do i aquire a manual for transmission removal and replacement ? I have limited funds and it is my only vehicle ! Can you PLEASE help me ?

You can download the full factory service info for under $20 from www.landrovertechinfo.com LRs official service site.  That said, there is no special trick to removing the transmission. A generally skilled mechanic should be able to do it without a manual.
