My car works fine in reverse, but when moving forward, the power is weak and barely moves.  Also, when changing the oil, does the car need to be running or shut off?
Please help ...thank you!

there could be any number of problems with low power, dificult do narrow down with that information.

oil should be changed with the engine OFF, if you drain the oil with the engine running you'll starve the oil pump and destroy the engine.  

Oil level should be checked with the engine off as well.  Let it sit atleast 5 minutes to allow enough oil to drain back to the sump to get an accurate reading.
