Land Rover Repair: landrover discovery II, land rover discovery, landrover discovery

Question
I have a land rover discovery II and I was wondering what type of transmission fluid goes in it, how much, and wear to fill it.  we changed the transmission out but unsure how and where to fill it.

Answer
You can use normal Dextron or ATF fluid.  The filler plug is on the right hand side at the front of the oil pan.  You must fill it with the engine running, in Park, until the fluid comes out of the filler plug.  A normal refill takes about 5 quarts.  If the system is completely drained, it can take up to about 11 quarts.
