Land Rover Repair: 96 P38 eas fault., bump stops, bump in the road

Question
First got 'eas' fault on dash when going over a bump in the road. Miles later, went over a second bump, got '35 mph' message, and she went down to the bump stops. Got her to a dealer, who used testbook and cleared several faults, she then went up normally, only a few ,miles later, down on the stops again. I have used Eas sunlock, and a cable, and can clear the faults, even turn on and off the compressor, but she still will not come up. The fuse-box under the bonnet was getting dangerously hot, so have replaced that with a new one. We cannot see any evidence of leaks in the air-lines, and the compressor is not operating continuously.

Answer
what are the fault codes you read?

This sounds like a spring has separated.  If so the hole will be so large you may not even hear air escaping and it won't be able to raise the other 3 wheels because of the loss of air.

The other possibilities are a worn out compressor or even a damaged height sensor.
