Land Rover Repair: Air conditioner / Water spray from vents, professional repair shop, land rover specialist

Question
Hello Nigel, Hope you might be able to help us. We have a Landrover Freelander 2000, today we had water spraying out from the air vents in the dash board whilst the aircon was running. I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago & up until today it had not happened since. We have read on the net it could be a flap on the end of the hose that drains the water away being misplaced, we can not find this hose.Would you be able to tell us where to look please. After todays water spray we were also getting a crackling noise coming from the speakers.Thank you for reading my letter. Kind Regards Sharon

Answer
This problem occurs from a baffle missing in the evaporator fan box.  The fan is so powerful that it causes a vacuum, which prevents the condensation from draining through the drain tubes, thus, forcing it out through the vents.

The first thing to do is change the pollen filter as a blocked pollen filter will cause this.  Beyond that, it is very complicated and you would probably have to take it to a professional repair shop (a Land Rover specialist).

Cheers,
Nigel
